Policies and Procedures

After the lecturer shuts the door of the teaching room, no one will be allowed in.

Students will use a notebook and pen during the lecture.

Mobiles will be made silent, and their use will not be tolerated.

A request to speak must be approved before any student may speak to the lecturer.

Comments and jokes while the lecturer is speaking will not be tolerated.

Bathroom requests may not be approved; if they are approved, cigarettes and mobiles will be left behind.

If I find that you are using the lecture time for activities not related to the lecture, your attendance and participation mark will be made zero.

Academic Dishonesty (Cheating)
Short-cuts at university lead to shortcuts in your career.  Do not copy the work of any other student; academic dishonesty will be punished. If it is found that you have collaborated with someone else, you will receive no marks for that piece of work.

Planning
Start studying right away. Do not underestimate the demanding nature of your degree. Expect your computer to crash the night before your due date. Aim to have everything done the day before. This the real world: after you graduate, your boss will punish you for carelessness. He/she will expect you to have planned ahead for all possibilities.
